I am currently employeed as a secretary for a busy physician practice. I have a bachelor of science degree in Biology that I currently do not use and the hospital I work for doesn't acknowledge. I make ok money. I love the people I work with, there's just no replacing them. The job however isn't satisfying to my goal oriented personality. I often feel at least once a day as though I'm selling myself short. I decided I would try and see if there was a better job out there. I went for my first job interview today and was offered the positon. I want to take the position because I would make $15,000 more a year (much less of a financial burden ) and it's also a job I would be proud of. The thing is...my first year I'm an apprentice more or less, I train to do every job in the entire blood bank. The only thing that concerns me about this is that I'm not sure it's something I'll be good at? I've never had a job like this, only what I learned in college. I've never drawn blood in my life, and that is one of the things I'll be trained in as well. I guess I'm just scared of change. Another thing I'm scared of is that for the most part everyone seemed nice, but one person seemed particularly rude when I first came in for the interview. I get the feeling that the moral isn't the best. I'm just really torn between what decision to make? I'm not sure that I should stay with a job that I don't feel personally satisfying just because I love the people and feel that it's a job I'm great at. But at the same time what if I truly hate this new job, is the money and future job opportunities worth the sacrifice?
