I am hoping to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) in the next year. In the future I am hope to move to New Zealand to be nearer family and a new start. I'm having real difficulty finding out if CILIP accreditation is taken into account in library and information jobs out there, if it is necessary to become a member of the NZ equivalent, and if it is necessary to be a member of an accredited body at all. I understand this is a bit specific but any knowledge imparted will be gratefully recieved.
