I'm wondering if I'm the only one who is having this problem...I moved to Nottingham from Surrey 6 months ago and since then must have sent at least 30-40 copies of my CV off or filled in application forms for jobs to no avail. Most don't even reply which I think is downright rude. Anyway I'm 20 and have 2 years solid foundation in retail including 6 months as a supervisor where I was managing a store 2 days a week, I have a good professional CV and I don't understand what is wrong. It's not as if I'm applying for a job with Alan Sugar or anything,I got a letter of rejection from ASDA today saying I didn't get a job and to be honest am getting very depressed about it. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do or been in this situation??

Perhaps you are being too honest. I have just seen you other post about going to Kings College London in September. If an employer thinks you will not be staying long then they will reject you.

I have never stated in any applications that I would be leaving to go to Uni,I have simply done it as if this would be my only job and career etc.
What about an agency? Lots of large companies go down this road, have a look at you for a couple of months and then invite you to apply for the next job that comes up.
Perhaps you should get some feedback on job interviews on where your going wrong. I'd also get someone to check your cv to make sure its not letting you down.
Are you editing your cv so its suitbale for the job your going for?
Do you dress smart for interviews?
Perhaps invest in some good quality paper for your CV
many seek some professional advice - learn direct / next step
if its a temp job maybe try a temp agency

Try working for yourself, I work for an excellent network marketing company, www.kleenezeworld.co.uk. It has huge potential and you could never have to work a conventional 9 to 5 again!
your best bet if your still having problems is to find yourself a local reputable agency who know exactly what local emplyers are looking for specifically and they will show you how to amend your C.v accordingly. i am not in your area, i am from York and my agency are excellent as they have built up a good relationship with the emplyers.
