Wouldn't they allow her to wear a fleece and wear her own gloves? She should ask the others who do this job what they do
Question Author
she's the only one that does date checking, this happens once a month.
Couldn't she suggest to the boss, date checking a quarter of the freezers every week but only doing it for quarter of the time?
Sorry, that's a US page here's a UK one (very similar)

thanx for all your help lafrancaise.i'll show her your answers when she gets home.
As a health & safety issue, she should probably provided with gloves as a minimum. Some sort of jacket or fleece if this isn't already part of her outfit. Especially if she is doing this for any amount of time longer than about 10 minutes i'd guess.
At Makro wholesalers, the freezer staff all have thermal fleeces and thermal gloves, but as far as the law is ????
