How much holiday do you accrue for every month you work? I've worked six weeks with a new company, do I have 1 days holiday paid for at least?

it will depend what is in your contract. I accrue holiday at 2.4 days per mponth i think
check your contract, you should receive a minimum of 20days per annum, usually accrued at the rate of 1.6 days per month, some companies include bank holidays in that time some don't so check
Yes you are legally entitled to 20 days holiday a year. However the employer has a right to demand you take this holiday when he/she wants you to rather than when you want it, although most employes try to incorporate employee wishes. Employees have no legal right to be paid for bank holidays, so as buckykat says check your contract. A suggestion, after working only 6 weeks for the company I would be wary of trying to claim a holiday in this short time. It may not go down very well! It may be best to have a more general chat about your entitlements and then find out what the employer is looking for with reqard to holidays.
