Anyone can ask for your bank details, its up to you who you give them to. But remember if you don't give them it could mean you don't get offered the job.

it's much more usual to apply for a job, then get an interview than have an interview and then be asked to complete an application form

No it's fine I've done that just new to giving them and documents before getting hired
It depends on the job and if having adverse credit could affect the job
They don't need bank details to do a credit check
Which job interview is it this time, Abbey? As Bednobs pointed out, one usually fills in an application form first, sends it in and one might then be called for an interview.
The Governmen advice is not to ask for bank details.

"Recruiting staff

You must give the name of your business and contact details (or those of the agency) on job adverts.

Only collect the personal information you need on application forms, and do not ask for irrelevant information, like banking details."

So have you had an actual interview for an actual job or have you just gone somewhere to speak to someone about work in the future and they are going to send you an application form?
TCL is also correct, a business cannot ask you for personal details like bank accounts unless it's for a specific relevant reason such as setting up your wage payments.
If Abbey is with an Agency then she does not have to apply for jobs, they send her directly to Interviews.

No it a full time permanent job
You can get full time permanent jobs through Agencies. Companies employ Agencies to save time trailing through all the unsuitable candidates. The Agencies send people they think may be suitable straight to Interview. Where are you getting all these Job interviews from? Why do you never get the job?
Question Author
From where I applied online and I keep messing up my interviews but have prepared better now.
Try a Agency. Are you working now?
Question Author
Yeah I'm working now
Maybe just stick with what you've got for a bit. Is there any chance of promotion where you work or is it that you totally hate your present job?

Not enough hours in my current job
