If you apply for other jobs you are more likely to be considered if you are already working than you would if you were unemployed, so try looking around now for another job that suits you better

tried phoning citizens advice.fed waiting so after 12 mins and being then told i was 17th in queue absolutely disgusting.some help would be fantastic
Question Author
hi there yes i am looking but i really want to know what options i have here
Have you tried calling other companies in your area who employ similar staff, to see whether they have any vacancies? Could you register with a few job websites?
'Absolutely disgusting' is a bit strong. Can you call in at a CAB. or just look online at one of those 'what am I entitled to' sites, but it would be a sad state of affairs if you could get just as much for not working as you do for working
What aspect is proving too much for you?
what you really want to do is quit your job and go into the benefit system I gather, if you are struggling to do the job your employer needs to support you and offer you re-training or unburden you a little, if they aren;t helping put in a grievance, if they don't like it they will perhaos try going down the counselling route. if they won't sack you it's perhaps because you have actually been with them over 2 years and they are worried about employment laws
Question Author
what is proving to much is the amount of work expected of me and being in two places at same time.and abolutely disgusting i was refering to the fact waiting on the phone then after 12 minutes telling me i was 17th in queue.should have said at beginning of call i think.
Question Author
d j hawkes thank you.unburdening me is what would be ideal but they appear to not be able to do this.i am not trying to get on benefits that is not me.never been there.i still have some rights somewhere and just want to know what.i would certainly rather be working
without knowing what your contract of employment states and specifically how you think what you're being asked to do decviates from this, it is difficult to give a meaninful response. You could try calling ACAS, who I've found to be very helpful.08457 47 47 47
If you leave voluntarily then there will be benefit sanctions....unless your gp insists it is for medical reasons.....you will find it easier to get re employment whilst in a post.....
Question Author
what is ACAS please
Hi encee, yes I realised you were talking about the phone call- I just felt 'absolutely disgusting' was a bit strong for having to wait on one attempt to get free advice at a time when then there are many other people also trying to contact CAB because of worries about DLA changes, 'bedroom tax', council tax benefit changes and forced redundancy etc
Question Author
ok factor-fiction.maybe i should apply for a job there eh
Advisory conciliatory arbitration service...
ACAS help where there are employment 'arguments'

Yes, you may find they want volunteers at CAB- it would look good on your CV though.
I suggest you stay in employment- do as DJ Hawkes suggest or look for another job- as once you get out of employment it's much more difficult to get back in to work
Question Author
i have to go to a meeting today so hopefully may find out more thanks everyone.now gonna try acas
Question Author
acas were very helpful and listened thanks
