I've seen an ad for a company called Courier Network, offering employment on a self-employed basis delivering small parcels, packets etc. They want an up front fee to join which has made me suspect a scam. Does anyone have any experience of them - good or bad? Any advice much appreciated.

It's almost certainly a scam.
Be very careful, genuine employers dont ask for fees up front.
Never heard of them but it will be a scam.
Couriers is a very easy business to set up, and hence it is ideal for the scammers because of the huge market of folks who realise they could possibly do it.
Paying the fee will guarantee you nothing in terms of work; you have no control of the price offered for the work done; there is no reason why an upfront payment is justified. Your money will just disappear without trace.
Anyone or anything that asks you to pay an upfront is a scam.

You will pay an up front fee, then find you are never asked to deliver anything.

So it has cost you your up front fee, and you have earned nothing.
Checked their website - no contact details but email, no company details, looks dodgy.
Yeah, I applied for it, and got accepted, no interview, nothing! Then asked for £70 up front to set up the work, self employed and instructions, i've just had a nother look, and the same advert now comes up under the name 'drivingwork'. That has been changed recently, I would leave, and will leave, well alone, why would any decent job advert ask for money up front, they will just take the money and run, funny how they have changed their name,
hi , i checked it out myself , it seemed good to start with , i then got 3 friends to type in courier on google search and all seemed ok , i then questioned courier network and they gave a possitive response . left it a few days and then today ( saturday ) my 3 friends tried again , surprise = courier network not listed , use your own judgement but my money is not going that way for sure .
does anyone know where we can report this type of thing , i still have e'mail details , account numbers etc for these people so they could be traced through IP addresses etc .
I also saw the same add and have just gone on to companies house the site
where you can register and also find out information about companies I typed in Courrier network and its not even registered stay clear from this scam
Hi, i totally agree that courier-network.net is very suspicious. i did a bit of research and found a review website which seems to have uncovered it as an outright scam, here is the link http://freelance-cour...courier-network-scam/
Don't get involved with Courier Network whatever you do! They promise a refund of your £69 within the first 60 days if you're not entirely satisfied--which I wasn't as their service is very amateurish and impossible to make a living from as a courier--but to this day, several months on, I haven't been able to get my money back from them. Actually, today I'm contacting Trading Standards about them to see if I can get any further that way.
