No surprise there then.
Is it controversial?

Do you know the rules of the programme? Is there anything that says when the process starts and when the acts can join?

It is a talent Show and its only job is to be entertaining.

As many times before Gromit, you make a good point. But surely you must admit that the phenomena that is the 'Simon Cowell machine' certainly claims more column inches over 'irregularities' than perhaps any other programme. But then that is today's society.

///It is a talent Show and its only job is to be entertaining./// Really? It's entertaining? Well!
The press and Simon Cowell have a parasitic relationship. They both feed off of each other.
You obviously dont know the meaning of parasitic, judging by that last statement

A production assistant saw their video on YouTube and approached them to audition in front of the panel.

This is perfectly acceptable, because normally, acts would have to be seen by production assistants before going in front of the judges - and this had already been done...the production team knew what they were like already.

At the end of the day, if Simon, Alesha, David and Amanda didn't like them - they wouldn't have got through.

Lastly - their song 'Lovesick' will be number one within about three months, not because of Simon Cowell's well-oiled machine...but because it's ridiculously catchy.

Parasite
noun
1. an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species, known as the host, from the body of which it obtains nutriment.

yep, that is what I meant.
I am not aware of any statements that claim that the show only auditions via personal appearence - so no, it's not contraversial.
How can anyone be bothered to be bothered by any of this...?

oh dear, some days its just not worth chewing through the restraints.

I think the correct word for what youre attempting to describe is symbiotic .

Parasitic is where one feeds off the other to the detriment of the other.

you have quite clearly implied they both feed off of each other to the benefit of both parties, that is quite clearly not parasitic

Well David certainly liked Aquabatique, the synchronised swimming act. He commented: ''I was completely blown away." Of course he was; they had appeared at his after-wedding party.
