can you go in the army with a criminal record?

iv been doing A level work about the armed forces and i need to know if people can go in the army with a criminal record but haven't found anything. can anyone help?

Ravid, I hope not - why should the Armed Forces have to take criminals? They want people who are responsible team workers and leaders!
I believe each case is taken individually and given that it's a minor offence and your first recruiting contact thinks you've got potential it doesn't necessarily stand against you.
Yes you can.

But not apparently the Navy or Air force.
