Internships in North America or Europe

Hi All

Does anyone know of any overseas internships or work experience in the transport design field or something similar? My boyfriend graduated 2 years ago and due to the economic climate and the colapse of the car industry he hasn't been able to get anything at all. He'd be interested in any type of work to gain the experience anywhere in the world really although we have family in North America, the caribean and Asia. Can anyone offer any pointers?
