Hi all
Does anyone have any ideas about what jobs i could do from home? I'm only interested in part-time, & not telesales. I'm medically retired & it's been suggested that a few hours work a week might help me to feel better about myself.

Thanks

(The following suggestion does involve making phone calls but it's not tele-sales, so I hope that it might still be of interest to you):

I do some work for a company called Deya, who deliver all of the UK's Yellow Pages (and many Phone Books and other directories as well). I can vouch for them as a reliable company (unlike the majority of 'work from home' offers, which are usually scams).

Deya employ home-based workers to phone customers, in order to check that delivery teams have done their jobs properly. (i.e. asking "Have you received your local Yellow Pages recently? How was it delivered?"). All calls are routed through Deya's phone system, which ensures that workers don't pay for the calls.

I'm not sure how regular the work is. (I only deal with the actual delivery side of things). I also don't know whether there are any current vacancies (but it's a massive organisation, delivering millions of directories, so they're nearly always taking on staff). The money probably won't be fantastic but Deya are reasonable payers, so you should exceed the National Minimum Wage.

The other alternative if you are receiving benefit is to do some volunteer charity work. It will give you something to focus on and help you feel good about doing something positive to help other people or animals or whatever charity you choose to support. You won't receive any payment but then that means any benefits you receive won't be affected. Charities are always looking for willing supporters for a wide range of tasks from stuffing envelopes to helping at fetes and jumble sales.
