Earning from a web site

How would you earn money from a web site, I want to quit my job and work at home. As I have a qualification in web design I thought I would use it and create my own web site but how would I make money from it?

Think that may be a bit old hat now, someone rang me the other day offering to do me one for a ridiculously small amount of money

cynical reply......how many want to get income from a website, if u have to ask this question on this type of noticeboard, u cant have much idea about commerce, adult content web sites may be abn avenue to venture down.......... ???

1. Are you going to promote any of your product by launching a website?
2. Are you going to design websites for others?

If you are going to launch a site for your self, you need to do the following

1. Preparing a good content which can be promoted aggressively
2. registering a domain name
3. Hosting ( launching the website)
4. Promoting the site
