hello
my car insurance is due for renewal shortly, one of the questions asks "occupation" well my occupation is a roadside recovery vehicle driver, unfortunatly on a drop down menu this occupation is not mentioned, the nearest is "car delivery driver" if i opt for this my insurance does not allow me to drive other vehicles (with the owners consent) i.e. my wife's car, i am only allowed to drive my own car, any suggestions as to overcome this without giving false information on the renewal form.
thanks

If its not in the drop down, then you have to phone the company. Giving wrong info can invalidate your insurance.

thanks for that, i have done as you have stated, phoned the company, but they insist that i use an occupation that is mentioned in their drop down menu, my occupation is not recognised by them,
then get WRITTEN confirmation from them that giving the wrong job title won't affect your cover. I don't trust insurance companies!!!!!!

hello, i think i will have to do that because they are quick enough picking me up if i give wrong details, and cancelling my policy but it seems ok for them to accept my stating the wrong occupation, just for them not to cover me to drive my wife's car and for them to take my money, these companies are all one sided, (themselves)
you're a tow truck driver F/F/S, ok it may not have the exact wording on there but it ain't a rare ocupation. There must be a dozen that cover it!
