I have bought a new car and when I phoned the broker to cancel my old policy and transfer it to my new car, they charged me �25 just for printing out a new policy. The difference between in money between my old and new policy is just �5.50p Is this general practise?

Most brokers will charge a fee for handling your insurance and a scale of charges should be included in the Terms of Business which they are legaly obliged to send to you with your quote, or renewal.
