I had a corsa but an N reg model a few years back, I choose to go fully comp, but I increased the excess you had to pay (300 i think it was), my theory was that if I had an accident that was my fault, I would not make a claim on my part but source out cheaper parts for the car due to its age... it actually worked out cheaper for the whole year than going 3rd party... bearing in mind I was sooooooooo careful when driving for the whole year, not that i'm not now !!
Try one of the online companies, such as confused.com. They really do all the work for you. Alternatively, look for a local insurance broker. When we looked online for our 20 year old son,(also prov) we expected to pay 120 per month fully comp on our Xsara Picasso for three of us. When we went to the broker it turned out to be just under 90.
By the way, it's provisional, not provincial!!
