Have just rec'd a quote from Sainsbury's Pet Cover, via Axa Insurance, for our 16 week old kitten Milly.

Apart from them, could you recommend any from this list, or any that aren't on it?

I thought I might give Pets-at-Home a call too, but will await any replies on here first.

Thanks in advance.....

The best insurance I found for my dog was with M & S believe it or not.

The good thing is that there is NO excess which is great. i have made one claim so far and they were very good and quick.
I can recommend PetPlan from personal experience. Have had all my cats over the last 10 years insured with them. The big thing to check is how long the insurance will continue to pay out for if the problem is ongoing. For many it is 12 months max, what if your cat needs drugs for life? PetPlan pay out for as long as necessary.

I currently pay around 7.50 each per month for my 2 cats aged 3ish and 8ish (both rescue cats so we can't be totally sure of their ages)
I Insure all my cats & dog through Animal friends insurance :)
Luckily I have never had to claim, but they are a non profit group so will always get my vote!

Hi bigmamma - thank you for your message.

Milly's doing very well & we're really enjoying having her as part of the family - the grandchildren adore her too. She's very affectionate & placid, but has a mad half hour every evening, then settles back on our laps for a purr!

Thanks again for asking & hope you, your son & doggie are well. -xx-
Hi smudge, I agree with sally: our dog's insured with M & S, they are fairly prompt, and yes you have the option of paying few pence more for a "no excess" policy. Their customer service is good too. Good luck, enjoy your kitty!
If you can afford it go for a lifetime plan. most pet insurance will only cover you for 12 months for an ongoing condition ie. diabetes, kidney problems (very very common in older cats) Pet Plan and More Than do this . Even better if you can find one that also has no excess.
I've just insured George with Tesco. Wouldn't touch any policy with Axa nor would I use PetPlan as I've had serious problems with making claims from both companies. If your animal is sick then you need a company which deals with claims in a compassionate manner. Tesco did just that.

Hi all - busy cleaning cupboards & having a chuck out.....

Thank you for the latest replies, I'm taking all your very helpful info on board & will let you know who we end up insuring Milly with.

P.S. Thanks Leelapops, have had lots of fun with her this morning, diving inside the duvet cover whist I was trying to change the bed & chasing around with a little mouse with a long tail I made out of wool - happy days!
Hi, I just had the renewal from M&S and it apears the 0 exces thing has been scrapped and the premium is huge. I claimed twice and was happy. I looked at Halifax which is real low premium but 50 excess per condition per year which sounds good as more than one ongoing condition is not that common and the premium for the dog was 87 per year for 6000 cover. Anyoun got any advice?
