I was wondering if anyone could recommend an insurer or even a broker who gave a reasonable price for car insurance when you have a claim and speeding points within the last 5 years. Done a dummy quote with current insurer (yet quotes done with compare the market dont look too bad) and looks like my next insurance cover will jump to at least £500, but that depends on the cost of the claim.

Missed the S in the title, whoops.
just hit the compare sites.
firstly is the claim your fault, if not you will be able to get the increase in your reneal back from the at fault driver. If you are t fault, unfortuantley is a hit or a miss. Sometimes it is better to try differnt level of cover, TPFT, TP, FComp.
Also another trick is to leave the current company and go back as a new customer, trust me it works, Good luck
I advise telling your current insurer about your speeding conviction. SP30 should only add 10%. Your claim will depend on if it's outstanding or not, and who's at fault. While outstanding, your No Claims Discount will reduce until it's resolved (a pain if thats at renewal). Again, your first port of call should be your current insurer.
Try http://www.adrianflux.co.uk/ they specialise in higher risk insurance.
