Thanks squarebear.

I was not multiplying by the 100.

Which percentage difference do you want?
Squarebear's answer is correct if you want the difference (145) as a percentage of the expected, which is probably what you want. But if you want the difference as a percentage of the actual you'd get a difference answer.
That's how they can twist things with stats, factor30. There are two "correct" answers: 11.6 and 10.4: which one would suit the purpose better?

What I want is how much more the actual is in a percentage.

If this is done a different way, can you please explain how.

Thanks.
DUH mah brain urts,
As squarebear said, funnygirl, the actual is 11.6% greater than the expected.
The difference is straightforward, 145.

Percentage difference for me has to mean that amount as a percentage of what you were expecting, so 145 as a percentage of 1250, which is 100 x 145/1250.
