I want to copy something off my old laptop on to a flash drive - how do I do it?

Plug it into a USB slot on the laptop.

The machine should recognise the flash drive as a new disk and assign it a drive letter.

Then just copy the file, double click on the new drive in "My Computer" or "Computer" if you are using Vista, and paste the file into the flash drive.

Another way is plug the memory stick in and look in "my computer" to see what drive letter it is assigned. then just right click on anything you want to copy to the card and select "send to" and then select the drive letter that corresponds to the memory stick
