It depends how many points you have on your yukka, erm, driving licence already.
yes, any traffic offences committed by a cyclist can be reflected on their car license. Drunk cycling can get you a ban!
and if you don't have a driving lisence?
No, it's a fixed penalty non-endorsable offence
Of course you can get endorsements Drewhound. Stop posting rubbish and guessing answers. One example I'll give you is: Two friends of mine got penalty points on their licences when they were 14yrs old - too young even for a licence. The points were put on when they applied for a licence after they left school.
So watch out all you cyclists!
Thank you for that Allan, it may be the law has changed, section 24 of the RTA 1988 states it is a fixed penalty non-endorsable offence (BTW it's presently 30) Can I suggest you follow your own advice, don't talk rubbish and don't guess, above all if you are going to get it wrong, as you have, be civil when you do it, the egg won't stick as much
The ironic thing is though.. someone can lose their drivers license for drinking and driving (or something else) then legally ride a pedal cycle. I've not heards of anyone banned from riding a pedal cycle.
I'm tempted to say all cyclists should be banned, locked up, hung drawn and quartered. But I wont.
asallen, no I wouldn't if I were you, the cyclist enthusiasts might think the same about you!
You can also get killed riding through a red light. Why would you want to go through a red light, are you invincible?

Ok, Ok, I don't want to ride through a red light and I haven't even got a bike, not with all these mountains around here. It was just something that I've been curious about. Thanks for your answers.
It is an offence to go through a red light on a bike, just like it is dashing across a red pedestrian crossing. You would have to be spotted by the police doing it as you do not have a number plate for a camera to catch you. You may get a on the spot fine of around 30, but usually it is just a telling off.
And you can get endorsed - for any trafficking offence! Drewhound: how would you like your egg - spread over your face? foolish man.
The Highway code says that a fine of up to 2,500 can be levied for dangerous cycling, but there are no endorsements on your license.
