Also my camera records video upto a good few minutes depending on quality settings & size of memory card. I have shot a lot of video of my family uploaded them to my computer, and watch them back on my pc. but all of a sudden after about 12 months or over, all i get is sound & no picture, i'v tried downloading codecs, but cant get them to play, I also downloaded windows media player 10. i'm on xp. sorry to go on a bit i,v had a drink. my question is can i downgrade back to windows media player 9, to see if this solves my problem. or is there something else i can try, plz help i got some cracking footage of my children.

Sounds to me like your computer has developed its own intelligence and like all other intelligent beings it is ****** of with listening to you going on about all the gizmos you have and looking a pictures of your ******* wife and kids. What a ****!
.... or are you some sort of pervert? cracking footage of my kids???????? Very dodgy.
I don't know how to solve your problem but if you get it sorted you'd be wise to back up your videos onto a CD/RW. I do it for just this sort of eventuality.

Have you tried using a different media player altogether? Lots of people swear by another prog but I can't actually remember what it is called. I'm sure someone will volunteer its name.

Hi thank you to everyone except thejuggler. who posted an answer to my question. and thank you to all who posted a follow up to my anger about thejuggler & backing me up I appreciate it. I have sent AB an e-mail lets hope this fool gets the boot. regards manutdstott
Dear manutdstott, I cannot apologise enough for the upset that has been caused by this situation. Unfortunately I lent my laptop to someone who I felt could be trusted and I now I find out, in the most unfortunate circumstances possible, that not only can I not trust them but they also have what can at best be described as a warped sense of humour. This has sickened me as much as it has the other respondents who have aired their views on this page. I have dealt with the situation as best as I am allowed to do but even that is not nearly enough to punish the wrong that has been done. I again apologise for what has happened and will contact answerbank to delete details of this registration.
