Is it possible to transfer photos from a pc onto a blank sd card? if so how?

Altenativley use one of these, you put your sd card in one end and plug the other into a spare USB port .

Card reader is faster and not expensive.
But not sure you need to buy anything! Can you not stick the blank SD card in your camera and connect camera to your camera?
You should be able to see your camera connected (go to My Computer) and copy files from your computer to the camera. (Select the files you want to copy - then use Copy Files - then select the a folder on the Camera's SD card).
