I've got a touch lamp that I got in Homebase a few years ago. But: last night it stopped working. It normally has three strengths of light that increase with each tap of the base, but now it only works fully on, and needs switched off at the mains socket to switch it off.
Does anyone know what could be causing this fault, and is it easily fixable?

You didn't put a low energy light bulb in it did you? That knackers them

The way of fixing this fault is to remove the light bulb and chuck the rest of it in the bin, then buy a new one.
I think these lamps have a mind of their own. I have two in my bedroom and they turn on by themselves. Sorry I can't help you, but nothing would surprise me about them. Does anyone know why,or how they would just come on?
