so the question i am asking is if i buy set top box s for my tv's that have not got digital at the moment can the set top box work with an indoor aerial as all my other tv's are portable with their own indoor aerials? Cant seem to find the answer it just says aerial and does not specify which one? thanks in advance.:0)

If the freeview signal is very strong in your area, then maybe.

no, its not very good at all

Depending on how old your indoor aerial is you may need to change it for a wideband version such as Televes ExtraHiGain aerials.

As somebody who has been without TV for the last two weeks because I have moved and all I have is a portable style ariel, I would say the answer is that you are not likely to get a decent signal on a small portable indoor aerial.
