(25/100) * 11....?
multiply and move the decimal two places left.

example:

25 * 11 = 275.0
25 * 11% = 2.75
A% of B = A x B / 100
they all work but loosehead has the easiest to understand
Or intuitively on this occasion the answer is A/4

nb. 25 is a quarter of 100
A=11
Kwicky - surely your statement is true forr 25% of 11 and not 11% of 25.
Take any percentage of 25 and use the same formula:

ie 50% of 25

using A/4 again

50/4=12.5
Jay70

25% of 11 is the same as 11% of 25

25 x 11/100 = 2.75
and
11 x 25/100 = 2.75
Jay70 in the numerical world formulas are often transposed to simplify the equation.
"%" means hundredths, so 11% means 11 hundredths, in other words 11/100. "Of" means multiplied by, so you multiply 11/100 by 25.

Maybe I should've made myself a little clearer there - 11% means 11 hundredths, that is, 11 times 1/100, which is the same as 11/100...
:-)
