I have an Ariston oven in my new flat (rented and no manual).

Not sure of the exact make, it's silver, electric, is on as the led is flashing on the clock which is in the middle of 2 dials, one for temperature and one for oven/grill etc... The dials push in and out.

Not been able to get it on since i got here, can anyone help. It is on at the mains.

Please help, i'm all hungover and need my pizza!

Not sure if this will work on your oven but on one of my electric ovens I have to turn both dials - one for temperature and the other for the right setting - light only, grill, oven and off, so you may need to push and turn both dials to get the oven working.

Giving it another go, thanks :) trying it on grill to see if anything happens. Both dials are turned and pressed in so we shall see :)

No joy :(
I guess by now you've probably got a takeaway (or used the microwave instead). I am intrigued - what do all the knobs indicate ? Also, are there any other switches, dials, knobs, displays etc. Can you take a picture and show us ?

Is it a single oven ? Does the hob work ?

It is possible that the oven thermostat has gone (ie needs replacing - a job for the landlord though !)
Question Author
Got a picture but trying to think of the best way to get it on here.

It's a single over and the hob is fine.

Will try and get the piccie on...
Question Author
how do i get a piccie on here? My e.mail's [email protected], can fwd it?
1. Take photo and store it on your pc
2. Open account with image hosting site like Photobucket (free and fairly hassle free!)
3. Upload photo onto Photobucket (Upload, browse on your pc for file and click on upload)
4. Go to your piccie, click on the IMG filename in Photobucket and press Ctrl + V at the same time (to copy it to your clipboard)
5. Come over here, post an answer and press Ctrl + C at the same time to paste the location here.
6. Submit answer and stand back in amazement and uncross fingers if it works!!
I've emailed you Jenna as well !

Argggg - I keep getting "this image has been moved or deleted" !!!

Did you post it and then delete it ? It's obviously Sunday evening hehe !
Can I have lots of stars for just trying to be helpful ha ha
If the clock is flashing try setting the time because it wont work unless the time is set
Jenna - I really hope you've had your (ie some) dinner by now !

A pox on Ariston ovens, doh !

Did you get my email ? If not, it's probably in your spam space.

Look, if we can't sort it out tonight, get hold of your landlord tomorrow and tell her/him that your oven doesn't work, it's probably the thermostat or the heating element that needs replacing and s/he should send around an electrician.
Oooops - have you tried setting the clock ? Smiffy mighty just be right here ...... Now, how on earth do you set the clock ?
Question Author
Awwww, course you can :)

Got your e.mail thanks and sent one back, not sure what happened to my photo as it's on there when i go in..argh!

Will try setting the clock and seeing if that works :)

Very very grateful to you both! if I could give you more stars would!

No, all shiny stars should go to Smiffy - s/he was the one who realised that the clock needed to be set as well. I'm just pleased that it's all sorted out now !
