What do you think happens. Give me a suggestion and I might just tell ya.

Depending on how long you keep the microwave on for, different things happen. If the microwave is kept on for more than say a minute in a 300w microwave, then stear clear and cover your ears. You'll hear a nasty and disturbing electrical noise, like when a metal container is put in the microwave. The lightbulb may light up if your lucky but this depends on the bulb and also the amount of water. It helps to have some kind of technical knowledge otherwibecause the microwave may break.

I wouldnt give it a go but its worth a look!

crispynugget, do you work for the answerbank, cause you have many questions in many different topics, Or are you just very curious?

a friend just told me about this website and since then all ive been doing is askin' and answering questions.

Quite sad really.

Any idea about my dog, lol!!! Animals and nature!
many years ago when microwaves were new. I went to a demo by a leading microwave company, When the guy put a car light bulb i a bowl of water and started the microwave, And the bulb lite up
You get a hiding from your mum?

Used to sell m/wave ovens and would do this to customers amazement (bless, these new ideas eh?) - 2 easy demonstations of the distribution of the microwaves - place a row of christmas tree bulbs in some polystyrene and turn on. Where the waves are being directed inside the oven will light the little bulbs. Very pretty that one..

Or, place a short fluorescent striplight over half a cup of water. Place in the oven, turn on and the strip light lights up without any wiring etc etc. Make sure the strip will not touch the sides of the oven or it will spark and you will hhave a firs...

Only do this for a few seconds to impress your friends by the way as m/wave ovens must not be used empty or with metal items that cause shorting and fires......I take no responsibility for you trying the above without a valid house insurance etc etc.

I'd get some tweesers and a mirror to pull the bits of glass out of your face.

Go here. As usual, anyhting you do is at your risk.

Judging by your question, it kind makes me wonder exactly how you came up with your username. :)
