How Long After Dishwasher Ends Until Dishes Are Dry?
I know you can open it the second the cycle ends if you want, but my question is, how long should you wait to give it time to dry the dishes?
If you open too soon it let's all the warm air/steam out & you end up with wet dishes.
Is there a sort of average length of time you should wait?
Thanks 😊

"Your dishwasher may offer multiple drying options—like Heated Dry, Air Dry or Extended-Heat Dry—which typically take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. Heated Dry cycles are faster, while air drying takes a bit longer"

. . . and from another
"You should always use your dishwasher following the instructions in your owner’s manual. Some manufacturers recommend leaving the dishwasher door open to dry your dishes after a wash cycle, while others recommend allowing the Heat Dry cycle to run entirely.
If you prefer to allow you dishes to dry naturally, you can open the dishwasher door at the end of the cycle to air dry the load. This method may take as long as 6–8 hours to completely dry your dishes"

I've never seen the point of domestic dishwashers. They take a very long time, and a great deal of energy, to do a job which can be done by hand in not much more time than it takes to load the dishwasher!
Wouldn't be without mine. We load everything thriughout day straight to dishwasher so never have any dirty pans plates or glasses etc left in or around sink, then I put it on maybe twice a week, on quick wash which takes under 30 mins including the drying time. I sometimes get everything out just after the beep or leave till I'm ready to unload, but always dry anyway. If we have family party will put on when full at end of that day but still on quick cycle. Sometimes I find there no drops of water on tops of mugs at all if empty soon after the beep.
As far as using a dishwasher goes, it's horses for courses (as is so often the case).
For me, living alone, I can do te washing up by hand in less than a couple of minutes. Especially since living alone I can indulge in behaviour unacceptable in company (e.g. lick first course plate "clean" then use for second course😀 - I can also often get away with just one spoon for entire meal).
