Plumbing Help Required

Need to remove cistern top.

Flush system is dual press button.

Have removed 2 crescent shapes by simply lifting out.

Below are 2 plastic semi circles with holes.

How do I get them out of what do I need to do to get lid off

if it's like mine & sits "proud" to the ceramic surface, just grip the edges & unscrew anti-clockwise.

If it's 'direct-acting', (operating rods hit the flush valve directly), then just lift the top right off.

I assume though that you have cable-operated. Lift top enough to slide your hand in there, grab the plunger body and unwind it.

You'll need to do this even if you can do what Dave says, to stop the body just spinning around.

mine has only one button - push & release for short flush / push & hold for long flush.

Got sorted thanks. WD40 sprayed round top buttons and works now without having to remove lid
