Baxi combi installed September 2020 new. I should have had it serviced after one year and every year so as not to void the 10 year warranty. Due to covid etc etc Ill health, you name it, it didn't get serviced. The Baxi firm say they won't honor it. I understand its six month overdue. Its Just a cautionary tale and to let off steam that I've written this

Not broken no.
I phoned the installer this morning and he was so rude saying it was up to me to do it.im not stupid ,I knew that, I've booked him to do a service next week, but I think I will cancel him now
Did you buy it from Baxi?
I thought that a new boiler came with a 2 year guarantee, and that the gas safe registered installer had to complete the paperwork and register with the manufacturer besides doing any requisite maintenance checks during the guarantee period. Have you contacted the installer? His services were all part of the price you paid for the original work. If he could not do the checks due to the pandemic it is hardly your fault.

tamaris, I think I misread your OP. Did you try to book a service and it was refused due to Covid?

No I didn't book I have been very ill
If it's working why are you concerned?
tamaris is rightly concerned because the 10 year warranty that was factored in to the price she paid for her boiler is now void. Should there be problems with the boiler within the next 8 years she will not be covered.

I wouldn't worry unless boilers are crap these days. First boiler from (new build) 1976-1996. Second boiler 1996 - still going strong. And Baxi are a good make.
They are very different these days, dave. I've heard no end of complaints about newer boilers. Mine is ancient and still plodding along

I sent an email to the lady you mentioned. I've had a quick reply, saying they would like to help, send them my address and she will investigate further.

I have seen it Ladybird ... I would not think it is up to Tamaris to be the installer's secretary. He has a responsibility to factor in these follow up checks into his work schedule during the warrenty period. It is part of the dealershop networking agreements that these installers and suppliers run. These heating engineers get very nice discounts for "recommending" boiler manufacterers, and fitting them to specification guidlines with warrenty support is part of that deal. No manufacturer wants a bad name because of a bossy or beligerent fitter. I would have thought it was his brief to contact Tamaris not her responsibility to remind him. He also has a service record log, that is kept by the customer, that he is supposed to sign and fill in. It includes the date of his next scheduled service call.

Togo I asked him at the time did he want to pencil me in for a service or contact me ? He said not at the moment. When I spoke to him earlier he disputed this and became rude saying it was my responsibility. He was so nice when he did the instalation, I saw him in a diff light today
People are always nice, or appear nice, when taking your money. Once they have it they couldn't care a toss about you.
