Just had an email to say my parcel is on it's way. The driver is in my area but has 51 deliveries before he reaches me. What time do you think he will reach me?

I don't know. Do you live out in the sticks with your nearest neighbour miles away?
Or in a city with a lot of roadworks?
Question Author
I live in Greater Manchester barry, not at all rural, don't know about roadworks. Just wondered if they are given a set amount of time as in, you have 60 parcels to deliver in so many hours.
not till late i would have thought. I just had a food delivery and he only has 7 more before finishing his shift. he started at 6.
perhaps late afternoon..
Question Author
The reason I'm asking is because I have an appointment today and would have to ask a neighbour if they would mind taking it in for me.
Too many variables, Barsel. Don't you usually get a live map showing where the driver is when he is getting close?
can you leave a note on the door perhaps asking for it to be delivered to your next door neighbour, or is that too dangerous, knowing you will be out, one thing some courier companies have a app where you can request the parcel to go to another location.
Question Author
Yes barry, there is a live map but I don't think there's a time on it. Perhaps if I check again in an hour, it may give me a better idea.
51 parcels is a fair few to deliver, i still don't think he will be there much before 3, but if there's a map that will help
Judging from the "service" by Yodel in my village, you'll be lucky if you receive the parcel at all.
Question Author
emmie, I will leave a note if he still hasn't been by the time I need to go out and hope one of my neighbours will be in.
what time do you have to go out...
Question Author
Looking at the map, it looks like he is just a few streets away and yet it says he still has 49 parcels to deliver before me. Don't think the map can be very reliable, unless he's going all round the houses before he gets here.:-)
Question Author
emmie, I need to leave here at 11.30am, so he has an hour and a half.
DON'T leave a note on your door. Not all burglars are illiterate:-(
Is it a sweepstake? I'll go for 2.30pm.
i would be surprised if he makes by 11.30 with 51 deliveries, ok so no note on the door, one assumes that they get a certain area to deliver in, as do Hermes couriers, they do our area that way.
is there a method of letting them know you will be out....
We always leave a note on the door in similar circumstances...
Parcel Delivery..if no answer please leave parcel behind blah, blah. (or in your case with neighbour at number 9)
Nothings been pinched yet.
Question Author
Don't think so emmie but he was in the next street last time I looked at the map and now he has gone past where I live. Grrrrr.
Question Author
Vagus I think it will be ok if I leave a note just to say please leave with a neighbour as I'm unable to answer the door. No need to say I'm not in.
