I am working my way through different browsers with the adblockers turned off and AB looks and behaves differently on all of them.
I would like to know how you are using AB and what sort of adverts you are seeing.
I am currently using Firefox on a PC and see no flashing ads, just ads in sidebars. If I zoom in then the sidebars are hidden completely and I can see no ads but I can read AB from the other side of the room. :D

I was on my phone last night when all this kicked off. I got precisely one small ad at the bottom of the screen. (Chrome browser, Android phone). It wasn't in the way.

Today I'm on my laptop. Windows 10, Chrome browser. There are tall thin ads on the left and right that don't move as I scroll. There's a wide thin ad at the bottom that doesn't move as I scroll. There are three wide, thin ads interleaved with the posts that do scroll as I scroll, along with the posts. And there's a tall, thin ad below the 6 "latest posts" that also scrolls as I scroll.

That's a lot of ads on a laptop, but no different to yesterday (I don't have an ad blocker). The ads don't "jump about" or flash. I suppose the flashing depends on which ads you are getting, but since I don't have an ad blocker I can honestly say that I've not suffered "flashing" ads in months. For me, the most annoying ad is the wide, thin one that doesn't move, that sits at the bottom of the screen. That ad is often in the way (my laptop screen is quite small), but none of the others are. I very often find myself clicking the little [x] at the top left of that ad to remove it, when I'm reading a long page of posts.

This is all tolerable, if my alternative is paying for a subscription. It's far better than the Daily Mail and especially the websites of local newspapers.

PS I was writing this in another thread and noticed this thread tile pop up in Latest Posts - I don't type that fast! I thought this was a better place for my response.
I usually use chrome but the ads were annoying on there, so I put ad blocker back on. Using Edge, only for AB, and just getting 1 ad in the side panel.

Thank you for your full answer - very helpful. I get the same tiny ad at the botttom of the screen in Brave on my mobile, not intrusive or distracting at all.

I don't have a static ad at the bottom of my screen in Firefox on my desktop.

Thank you, Ubasses. Edge sounds good for AB
I know we've discussed on another thread - I appear to be using Chrome with no ad adblockers. Only ads I see are a strip at the bottom, side column ads and ads in between some replies. Nothing that has too much of an impact on my use.
I use a Samsung tablet and phone. Browser is Chrome.
Minimal ads...sometimes connected to things I've viewed.
Currently just one tiny add level with that irritating little cookies settings box. I just had that ad removed...I'm sure Google will find another for me.

Local newspapers hardly get a look in any more from me...they are impossible to navigate, and I forget what the hell I was reading before the page started jumping and ads popping.

Pasta, I have exactly the same with local newspaper sites, impossible to read and navigate due to ads. Such a shame as local news is important.
So Chrome is goods for Android tablets.
I'm on my new galaxy s6. Android.

Thank you, tigger
I'm using a Chromebook and Chrome browser. The ads have got better since I enlarged the screen.
I use Safari on an iMac, and get one ad on sidebar and one unobtrusive pop up at the bottom of the screen.

I would also add (pun intended) that I have occasionally benefited from ads. Not to mention they pay for the facility which I then use for free.
Windows 10 & Firefox - AdBlocker Ultimate turned off for this site and no Ads spotted yet.
I am using a Samsung tablet with Opera browser, and no ads, so far.

Thank you all - so far no major problems reported. That is very encouraging :)
I'm using Slimjet on my laptop. Only a couple of banner ads which are bearable. Much better than I'd feared when this all kicked off last night - was prepared to walk away after 16 years.
im using chrome. 1 ad at the side, i across the top. I was getting the annoying pop up flashy ad at the bottom, until i changed my cookie settings, and now it doesnt appear
I have just snuck onto my work laptop. EDGE but no ads at all - mind you, a VPN is in place on that laptop
On IPad with Safari. Ads at the side, one at the bottom and pop ups between posts. Not too bad
W 10 on a PC, Firefox browser, Adblock Plus.
I see FB, Twitter and one other symbol just below the View all Categories button.
I see a black tab on bottom right saying'Cookies Settings'. I did manage my cookies and turned off everything as far as I can recall.
Apart from the above, all seems to be running as usual.
I'm using Slimjet on a laptop, with hardly any ads at all.

It's good to see that Brainiac is a convert ;-)
I'm on Edge and Answerbank won't let me on until I turn off Adblock so ads are all over the place and very distractingly moving - ye gods.
