... despite another great match on "Super Sunday, but one in which I had a personal interest. (Well done, Mr Djokovic, and commiserations tyou, Mr Federer, by the way. And thank you both.).

But I refer, of course, to the cricket. I started off with a bad mood about Kiwiland because the VE Sunday lunch consisted of a smoked salmon sandwich and a bottle of Marlborough (not one of Sainsbury's cheapest) which I didn't like that much and returned half of it to the Samsung wine "cellar".

But the match was as thrilling as you can get, wasn't it?

PS: What's the last series of Poldark going to be like? And how did Lewis do?

Right, F1. Not as exciting (despite Herr Wettel's efforts) by any standard with the rest of the days sport, but well done, Mr Hamilton.
I was following the cricket score while watching Fed v Djok on Centre Court. As soon as Djok had beaten my hero I rushed up to see the super over. Wow, what a weekend for sport.
Yes, well done Lewis, too.
I usually have a passing interest in F1, but this weekend had too much else going on.
(Not bothered about Poldark.)
