First time ever I wanted to watch a video from Amazon Prime but didn't want to join Amazon Prime or do the Free 30 day offer in case I forgot to cancel. I was told you have to join AP to be able to watch the video. I'm not sure whether I have joined or not. Certainly not been asked for a joining fee. Anyway, I somehow ordered the film twice, first one costing £4.49 and second one £4.99. I think and please correct me if I am wrong, that for the cheaper price I can watch it for so many hours and then it will disappear and for £4.99 it stays in my account forever. Is that correct? Realising what I had done, I cancelled the first one and was told I would get a refund which would take a few days. I then watched the video. Going back to my emails and account afterwards I have been charged for both, there is no record of the cancellation. I don't understand why it has disappeared and how I go about cancelling one of them now. Obviously can't be the one I already used/watched. Sorry this is so long but hope it makes sense. It's only £4.49 so it's not the end of the world if I lose it. Film was worth it:-)

ive always found amazon really helpful on the phone or on their live chat (if you've got half a day to spare!)
Go to your orders in your amazon account - do both of them appear? If one hasnt been watched, it should be cancellable, although if you didnt watch the rented one, it wouldnt be there any more

Bednobs thanks for taking the trouble to read it all and for your advice. Yes they are both still there. The 1st 50p cheaper one which I think is rented and which I thought I had cancelled, has "expires in 28 hours" written underneath it. The second one has only a button to press to watch it and nothing written underneath it. Trouble is I am not sure which one I watched and also why when I cancelled it last night are they both still here? Not even sure which one I watched now:-(
Bednobs do you have the number to call them please? I've looked but can't see it. I will try to speak to them and if that doesn't work I'll give up.
may i ask what the film was?
I have found Amazon absolutely useless
and all you can blame is yourself

They dont do diddly squat - write off the loss

They are meant to be the stock of the century - but they dont pass the Victor Kiam test ( "my name is Victor Kiam, and this razor is SO good, I bought the company..." a teevee ad in the seventies)
Awful - - be warned !

doesnt surprise me at all
doesnt surprise me Amazon wont do diddly squat - that's how they make their Very Large Profits !
give em the number BN
it wont do him any good !
I am unable to agree with Peter Pedant.

My experience with Amazon is that, when the firm says it's giving you a refund, you get it as a Credit back into your payment card account; but the original purchase will remain listed in your Amazon account.

Hans.
I've always found Amazon's customer service excellent....I've had refunds within HOURS of contacting them and find their "ring-back" service the best way to contact them.
Amazon has been absolutely fantastic for refunds for me, even on 11 month 'high end' items that have gone wrong.

Emmie the film is called "Alison" and is a film /documentary a true story about a woman in South Africa named Alison Botha. I've C&P'd this for you:
// Alison Botha is a woman whose story of determination and courage continues to inspire people and communities. Twenty-two years ago two men abducted and raped Alison in the bushes adjacent to Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s main campus. Stabbed so many times that doctors could not count her wounds, disembowelled, and her throat slit, Alison was left for dead.
But Alison miraculously survived, having crawled inch by inch from the bushes to the roadside, where she was
eventually found and assisted by a passing motorist.\\

Peter yes I only have myself to blame. Silly me. Than goodness it's only small amount.

Hans thank you, if I don't find the phone number then I shall watch my payment account and see if it is refunded.

Absolutely brilliant. Phoned them up, listened to music for one minute, spoke to a very helpful chap who passed me to another very helpful chap who cancelled the "rented" one and refunded me immediately. First Class 10/10 Amazon. And thank you all for your help, especially for the phone number Danny. Got to give you BA for that really.
PP's view that "they wont do diddly squat" and that's how they make their "Very Large Profits" is, of course, a daft argument.
Amazon make large profits because customers go back time and time again....which they wouldn't do if the service was "absolutely useless".
