I'm going to be organising a holiday for myself, likely alone, later this year, and I'm open to suggestions of where people have been that they've found truly wonderful. It can be anywhere in the world including this country and can range from wild camping to 5 star hotels, would just like some suggestions please of what you've found to be really life enriching.

Thanks x

If you like walking holidays a stretch of the Camino in northern Spain might be worth considering.
Solo?
Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle. I have visited all three in the last two years and found plenty to fascinate. But it all depends on your personal tastes, and life experiences (apart from several visits to Scotland, I had never been north of Watford until 4 years ago).
Normandy, stayed in a lovely little English B&B in arromanche and just drove around visiting all the battlefields and beaches, burial sites and museums.
There are some lovel markets on Sundays and fresh food stalls.
How about volunteering on a wildlife reserve in South Africa or Thailand? My friend went a couple of years ago and is saving up to go again next yer. Lots of singles go and groups of friends too.
Do a bit of camping and stopping in hotels.

Some great hotel bargains on Ebay book a desirable city and get there by camping.

One Q... can you drive?
I'm told that Romania is very nice at this time of the year.

Depends on the kind of holiday you like and your budget
Can't go wrong with the Swiss Alps.
It's always very subjective what one person finds 'wonderful' and what another doesn't, of course.

I'd thoroughly recommend Yosemite / Californian coast / Vietnam and Singapore / Croatia / Northern Corfu.

Some interesting suggestions there. I'm quite eclectic so almost anything might appeal. I do hill walk, likewise I do slob about a lot too lol.
Yes Anne this one will be solo, I'll never get him free to go anywhere for longer than a couple of days in the foreseeable future so I thought I'd treat myself to a nice selfish do anything I fancy holiday.
Sandy, never been there, will look into it, sounds lovely actually :)
City hopping could work Canary, I like the north and I have friends in Newcastle.
France is lovely too Rockrose and Romania is always lovely Togo, I've been there a lot, my ex was Romanian.
I'd like to visit Africa Aunt Lydia and funny you should mention Crete Jordy that had vaguely crossed my mind already, so that's a definite maybe :)
I do drive, and ride bikes Talbot which makes it all so much easier :)

Thank you all for the suggestions so far x
Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, St Lucia, Grenadines & Tobago Quays, Iceland, United States, Croatia, Venice, Greece (mainland and Islands) and Cyprus have been my favourite destinations.

I'd give Cape Verde a swerve. It's a wee bit "rustic" for some.

Don't really have a budget as long as it's not completely absurd 237SJ, I tend not to fritter money.
Alps would work for me Jim.
I've visited Croatia and the California coast (I've just come back from San Diego amongst other places) Zacs but never ventured Vietnem or Singapore territory don't know why they've never really occurred to me.
I'm in Croatia right now and tbh I don't know what the fuss is all about. It' OK but I can't ever see me returning.

Love the alps for relaxing camping.
My sister goes on a lot of Ramblers holidays - she's been all over the place, - South Africa, Bhutan, Vietnam, loads of places and many of the group are solos https://www.ramblersholidays.co.uk/home This is another company https://www.hfholidays.co.uk/
As said this is so subjective - for me it would be warm seas, white beaches, fabulous wildlife - some of the Caribbean for example. I love Antigua and that's good for solo female travellers. On my bucket list is Costa Rica.
I love the Caribbean but you`ll get hit on big time if you`re on your own on the beach and they can be persistant.
*persistent*

Cosat Rica is a slightly sore point at the moment :/ so it won't be there but Antigua could be an option Prudie.
I might look at those ramblers hols SJ thank you.
NoM, Bahamas sounds good, never been although apparently we have a black sheep of the family who lives there, so could go and visit him, if he's a black sheep in our family he must be a black sheep :)
