Every time I switch on my circular fluorescent light it starts to buzz. After about 5 minutes it eventually stops. I'm told that this is always the case but it has only started to do this after I replaced both the bulb(circular) and the starter motor. Is there anything I can do to cut out the buzz?

Just a thought, try it with the old starter motor.
The noise most likely comes from the choke, the part of the fitting supplying the high voltage to start the tube.
could be the metal casing it was when i had a fluorescent, tap with stick or something see what that does

Thank you to those people who offered suggestions. At 89 I gthink I'll leave it to my son to try when he comes to visit in November.
