Myhusband has a sensitive skin to I have to use non-bio washing products consequently my whites are not as white as they could be - can anyone suggest a product I can soak/wash them in to bring them up to scratch again? Thank you for any suggestions.

People have been using this stuff for ages and most seem to be happy with it:

(£1.94 in Waitrose, £1.85 in Sainsbury's, only £1.27 in Morrison's).
OH is also highly sensitive. If I need to get things a bit whiter I wash using non-bio plus Vanish. I then put the clothes on a second rinse cycle. Seems to work OK.
Using non-biological washing products is NOT the reason that your whites are not very white....the enzymes in bio products are there to remove stains like blood, grass, food etc. It's the bleaching-agent in detergent that keeps whites whiter....at higher temperatures.
You could try a different (ie better!) detergent or use this....the same action as Vanish at a fraction of the cost....

I have sensitivity too and use this bleach free liquid. It works for me.

Hydrogen peroxide is an effective bleach that leaves no residues. It is it pricey though.
I use soda crystals in a white wash, together with a reduced amount of washing liquid
White clothes are made to look 'whiter than white' by the optical brighteners found in many detergents.
http://greencleaning.about.com/od/GreenCleaningResources/g/Optical-Brighteners.htm
These are special dyes that absorb UV light and re-emit it as visible blue light. Thus making the clothes look brighter white than they really are.
Many people are sensitive to optical brighteners and should avoid using them. They do nothing to make clothes cleaner they just make them look whiter.
