Bought a mobile second hand. Doro brand. No sim. Appears to be locked. On Orange I am almost certain.
Don't know the phone number of the phone. How do I proceed to unlock.
When I put new Tesco sim in it a message comes up "enter operator code". Tried the usual 1 2 3 4 and 0000 but no good. Only two chances left to enter correct code

Take it to a mobile shop or maybe a mobile market stall. They can unlock phones from networks. The handset is not the SIM/account. You don't need to know the phone number.

The code it is asking for sounds like a different matter. Sounds to me to be a handset pass PIN. I've never set these things so can't advise. Maybe a shop can advise there too.
Why dont you contact the person you bought it from and ask them for the
code ?

If you do manage to get the security code then you can access the handset and go about getting a network code to unlock the handset to any provider.
The Doro codes are only 99p from ebay.
If you run out of chances, the phone may become 'factory locked'.Orange are very reluctant to help especially as you are not the original purchaser. Why not buy an Orange or EE sim
Orange unlocked my phone free and it was done the same day, no problem. I know they usually make a charge for the service though.
