leaky fridge

My fridge is dripping water onto the floor.  It looks like it is condensing under the salad drawer at the bottom and then leaking out through the door seal.

Is there anything I can do to fix it or is it new fridge time?  It is a larder fridge and does not have a freezer compartment.

is it one that defrosts itself because sometimes the little drip hole at the back by the salad drawer gets clogged up and then the water can't go anywhere. This happens to mine sometimes and I have a larder fridge.

Jules is right. make sure the drain hole is clear, some makers put red plastic thingy in the hole, give a wiggle, if you hav'nt got one use a straightened out paper clip.

good luck

And while you're at it, check the condition of the drain tray under the refrigerator... the above referenced drain line runs into this tray.  If you haven't maintained it in a while, like most people, you'll need a non-queasy stomach.  It should be washed, rinsed and disinfected...

Best of luck!

Pipe cleaners are good for cleaning out the drain holes mentioned.

thehole was blocked with old bits of mank,  thanks :o)  I've not been brave enough to look in the tray yet!!

One further question - where does the water go from the tray?  Does it evaporate away?

Yes, leaving the gunk you're about to experience...
