Downloading Photos.

How can I download photos from my Canon 300 D camera so that they go into 'Pictures'?

I have been using Adobe Photoshop but they take ages to download.
Before I changed my laptop for a Windows 7, I was able to download them really quickly and delete them via the computer but I can't remember what to do. I have the appropriate drivers for the camera.

Its amazing isn't it that there are now digital camera formats that can be considered "old hat"

My laptop is an Acer Aspire . There is a slot on the left underside (just under the left mouse button ) for my cameras memory card .I think there used to be a cover over the slot making it not very noticeable.

andres, mine does not have a slot which will accommodate a CF card. I have a tiny little pull out slot at the front but the CF card will not fit in there.

Tilly2-- I also have an All-in-1 Reader /Writer for the bigger memory cards from my other camera. This takes four different sizes of cards and plugs into one of the USB ports.
