Can anyone please tell me how to add text to the pictures I am e.mailing. I have tried 'add a caption' but the text doesn't stay when I send it. I would like to add a detailed description to some pics I am sending someone and I can't figure it out, (or maybe it can't be done?) TIA -rosy

When you are viewing it in the library (rather than editing it individually) right click on the picture and choose the save option from the menu - this writes the change to disk rather than it just being within picasa. A copy of the original image will be saved in a folder called .picasaoriginals that gets created in the same folder.

...just checked and that save option is also available from right clicking on the picture whilst in edit mode

Thank you for your help bibblebub, that is what I've been doing wrong. I would like to be able to write quite a lot under each picture, can this be done. I did try but it seems as if you can just put text on the actual photo? -rosy
You'd need to resize the canvas to provide extra space around the image and I can't see anything in Picasa to do that; other image editors do let you do that.

Thank you for your prompt reply, what a pity, maybe I will try to find another image editor then, but it will have to be easy :o) thanks again -rosy
Can you alter the font size in your text?
Perhaps I am missing something because I know nothing about Picasa.

If only I knew what E/mail programme you are using. I operate with Windows Mail and do not have any difficulty in placing photographs in an E/mail and adding details underneath each picture.

Yes Slack Alice, I can alter the font size but can't get many words on the bottom of a pic :o( Ron I use outlook express, I am thinking the only way I can do what you say (in O.E.)is to send the pics to myself, then >forward and add the text then send them onward.Unless anyone knows different. This seems a laborious way to do it and I expect if the techies are reading this they will be ROFL :o) Thanks for the replies, I will take a look at Windows Mail too - rosy.
p.s. I wonder what anyone would write about this that would have to be removed ??
The Answer Removed was Not a reply from an ABer; it was an America firm illegally advertising in about 20 different Topic sections.
