Been trying to work out the cost of a three month ticket, return from teddington to tower hill, as our son has just moved to teddington and needs to cycle to work so that he can afford the mortgage. we regard cycling in London as very dangerous, plus its an hour and half cycle ride, so want to buy him a ticket as a house warming present, but, i have tried using google etc. and nothing seems to want to play ball. does anyone do a similar journey, or do you think an hour and a half cycling to work, and then hour and a half back is good idea? does anyone know how to get the train information? I know this is not really a chatterbank question, but don't think the travel topic will have many customers.
thanks, Percy.

trainline or contact the train operating company website both should have ticket prices.
Look here, but Tower Hill's not listed as a station. I've put London Bridge instead, £472.40 for a 3-month ticket http://ojp.nationalra...e/seasonticket/search
Zone 1-6 travel card is £205 per month. I think Teddington is zone 6 and towerhill is zone 1. This will help you work it out.

that's better than mine, china
Tube station I think boxy. Hence needs a travel card for the tube as well as train, so signifcantly more than £474 I think :-/
Ah - overland might be better then.
^ no it wouldn't, I understand what you mean now!
This should be in the Law section under Daylight Robbery

Good on ya Percy
after 3 months what will he do?
perhaps he wants to cycle?
I'm buggered if I would want to cycle all that way into the City and back for three hours a day ...with white van man up my bum .
I have no idea of the fares these days percy having left the Great Wen some years ago but I think it's a very kind gesture of you to help your son out .

This sounds like like daylight robbery, would be cheaper to buy him a car, i think.
