Anyone have any ideas of what I could use instead of a black-out blind? We rent our house so I don't want to make any unnecessary holes. There is currently an ordinary blind but it is as much us as a chocolate tea pot. Thanks for any help.

Do you have curtains up or just the useless blind? You can buy blackout lining that you can pin/sew onto the back of curtains.

Thanks both - it is for the three year old twins' room. Their beds go right up to the wall under the window (nowhere else to put them) - there is a curtain rail too (we took the curtains down to 'preserve' them!) but it is proud of the window so there would still be light shining down into their eyes. Fortunately, they were both wrecked tonight (kept them up late last night to compensate for losing an hour) - but I'm not sure if they will be so good tomorrow.
some heavy lined curtains will do ok.
or is it for kids rooms? theres a travel blackout blind thats supposedly quite good.

I think this is what you need Sher - never used it, but by the description it seems to fit the bill:

Thanks Red - the first one looks ideal as there aren't any permanent fixings.
