Sounds like a thermostat issue (if Freezer is working fine)
Can you hear the fan working as it should, too? Usually runs a while after you close door.
There will be two separate thermostats, one for the freezer and the other for the fridge. The latter is almost certainly faulty and needs to be replaced - not an expensive component. Happily, since the freezer functions, the thing is well worth repairing (the cooling circuit is fine, just the control of it is out of order).

hi karl i replaced the theromostat last year but it still goes wonky.....its supposed to be frost free but he fridge section freezes up the after a few weeks defrosts ???????????????? still puzzled ...lee
We had the same problem with our Beko fridge freezer. Guy at the shop told us that although it is frost free, the fan at the back of the freezer still gets iced up and then affects the fridge temperature. Apparently frost free fridge freezers still need to be defrosted and he said we should have read the instructions!!! We defrosted the freezer and make sure we don't block the fan by putting too much food in front of it and have not had any trouble with the fridge since. Worth giving it a try anyway.
