I would tell them you have done everything they initially asked for and that you cannot find a company who are willing to write such report.
Then explain all the circumstances and reasons for your refund... and ask that it is processed within 14 days

I contacted the card company again and told them nobody will write a report about the fireplace because I was told they all purchase their supplies from them and they are scared they will find out so don't want to get involved.
Credit card still wont look into my claim until I supply a report (excuse I think) because they can see from the pictures I sent in how bad it is
Never trust a credit card company to keep their word
If you explain the problem with your fireplace more fully, some here may be able to offer some practical advice.
if the fireplace is not fit for purpose, why aren't you seeking recompense from the company you bought it from rather than the cc company?

I purchased a fireplace and gas fire as a package and paid for them when ordered
5 Jan 2011 they said it would be 2 weeks on the 21 feb they came to fit it took out my old fireplace and fire.
Fitted new fireplace it was not same quality as in showroom looked used top mantle all rough not smooth finish 2 large brown stains on inset panel and fitted crooked and wedged with pieces of wood. Not happy with result asked them twice to come out and look at the state of it over two days they wouldn't come out
Said they were going to fit fire into. it I wrote them a letter rejecting goods in compliance with consumer law. They have not attempted to make good there bad workmanship and I have no gas fire that I have paid for either. So no nice fireplace no gas fire at all and no money. So now Credit card being awkward
It looks as if a visit to a solicitor is called for.
Have you tried telling them you will take them to Court?
Try your local trading standards office. They may be able to recommend an expert for the report.
You need a solicitors letter giving them 14 days to refund and retrieve their goods, or to complete satisfactorily.
