Has this happened to anyone? I bouight a bunch of the normal bamboo canes for holding up plants last year and have just noticed one has sent out roots. It doesn't look like the other bamboo sticks now its darker and and has a rougher feel to it.....I was wondering has this happened to anyone on here and did it develope leaves and turn into a nice big bamboo plant??

that seems a bit strange I would have thought that they would have been in the shops too long for it to start rooting

I know what you mean I keep checking it as I can't quite believe it myself - I've double checked to make sure its not the roots from another plant because its (not attatched to but) in with a Lavatera and its just stuck in at the front of the pot - which I sometimes to when I don't need anything propped up... Also it has the hole in the top that you get with bamboo although the hole is now wider ... The roots are creeping up to the surface so its been looking for water...It smacks of the Little Shop of Horrors - Maybe I should start calling it Audrey!
put it in another pot and see what happens ,would love to know
