Is it just me wondering who is buried under the patio?
no, that's the first thing I thought of.
Has the patio had a thorough clean and what size is it?
I bet it's 6ft long and 3 ft wide
lol mrs o

Hi bubba I'd be inclined to pressure-wash it and if it still looks dull, brighten it up with some potted plants.

It's 15ftx15ft. I'm planning on pressure washing it, but it looks like its been there for years and not all the same colour.
I've no experience of painting concrete so maybe someone else can give you advice on that.
From what you say it doesn't sound attractive. I'd either remove it or cover it with decking.
"15ftx15ft"

Ahhh, so two bodies then?
Bubba ................ Google "acrylic concrete sealer" ............ I noticed a couple of videos on the first page as well.
I'm not a great fan of the look ............ always looks to me like someone's put lino on the patio ;o)
I'd go for topping with timber deck .......... as JMR has said. Or even slabs/pavers/ and some planting?

Nothing will stay .. permanently.
Concrete is porous, to a degree .. so any paint will scrape/peel off eventually. There are ways of dying it.
Garage deck paint is not good outside .. and looks dreadful when it's halp on .. half off. Then you have to get the scraper out .. and it's hard work.
About twenty years ago, when I was able bodied, I put down coloured paving slabs 18" x 18" and every 2-3yrs I had to scrub them clean with washing -up liquid, but now use a power jet, which is so much easier, and they still look pretty good.
I'd try power washing the slabs first - they may come up lovely with no need to paint.
Bubba - garage floor paint would be ok - if you sealed the base first after power washing but if you have seen it somewhere - try and put some water on it - it can be horrendously slippy when wet, unless you get an anti slip variety which is even more expensive. would your budget allow for decking / reslabbing. Also depends on how your patio is in relationship to your DPC and levels for entry / exit if you choose overlaying with anything
Dont do it.... clean it up if you feel brave bash out a few holes to put low planting surrounded with a toning gravel lots of planters but I agree its a great base for a deck....or an overlay of something else like slabs or bricks
rowan - I agree not to paint - Artistic moment tells me to go for your design of pots and and some holes for plants - andmaybe some some slate chippings with something to hold them?

all depends on budget that bubba has and what she wants to achieve - You can get some really pretty resin bonded surfaces
