My niece has dropped some duck fat onto a new pair of suede boots. It is a nasty mark at least as big as a two piece coin.

I there anything which will safely lift the stain without damaging the suede surface.?

There probably are a few 'home remedies' but I don't know how trustworthy they are.

I've heard that rubber-cement works, but I'd be wary of putting anything onto suede.

I'd BLOT off as much of the grease as possible, don't rub, and then take them to a professional leather cleaner.
The old 'Dab-It-Off' cleaner .. which is dry cleaning fluid .. or Carbon Tetlachloride (which you can't buy anymore)

Thanks Naz and Al for having responded to my question. I think my niece will just have to wear the boots as they are and hope that her shapely legs distract from the issue concerned.
