Electricity Tarrifs

I was surprised to learn that companies such as EON and NPower have over 30 different tarrifs each. I was hoping to list out all the tarrifs showing the different prices/unit. But it seems these companies do not operate that way. They ask a series of questions and then tell you what tariff you should be on. I know they ask for things such as direct debits, etc but if all the information for all tariffs were shown you could adjust certain parameters to get the best deal rather than be handed what they think is best for you.

Is there any way to get the prices of all the tariffs?

Yes, by going onto each site, downloading the tariff cards, finding the right one for the area where you live (what's that? - you didn't know price varies by region), opening up MS Excel, keying in all the different numbers and constructing a simple spreadsheet to do it.

If this information was readily available then you should be able to keep your present supplier without keep having to change and all the discomfort this causes. Maybe then the comparison websites would take a hit, the electricity companies would not have to pay out so much to them and the prices could be reduced even further and the customer would be happier.

Can you use Microsoft Works Websheet instead of Excel which I don't have?
Any spreadsheet would do.

But have you tried the various comparison sites?
It really isn't in the company's interest to find you a more expensive tariff, only to lose you to a competitor.

Have you ever been on a comparison website when they say they can't find a better deal than the one you are on? What does this tell you?
That you are already on the best deal.
Try manually processing the numbers 2 and 3 on the comparison site list to prove it for yourself.
You really ought to get out a bit more, Rov. There's so much to see instead of being hunched up over a steaming PC all day.

Buildersmate your answers are predictable and useless in the bargain.
Well thanks.
I do work hard to pitch the answers as appropriate to the OP.
So if you find them useless, you have at least found out something about yourself.
Now. now. girls !!
